Angela popped her head into Bones’ office. “Heads up, hon. Booth is on his way up and he is looking mighty pissy.”

Dr. Temperance Brennan glanced up briefly, a frown on her face. “Do you know why?”

Angela shrugged. “Not a clue, but it could have something to do with the cute blonde trailing in his wake, who, I might add, is looking really annoyed herself.”

Brennan’s frown deepened. “Thank you, Angela.”

“No problem hon.” She walked out and smiled brightly at Booth as he approached her. “Hey there, Booth, you’re looking extra smiley today.”

F.B.I. Special Agent Seeley Booth walked right past Angela and into Brennan’s office. Angela blinked. “Huh.”

“‘Huh’ is right. I’ve known the guy a whole twenty minutes and he still hasn’t said ‘Hi’ to me or smiled. I hope he doesn’t always act this happy around me because I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to take all the positive vibes before I turn into a peace loving hippie.”

Angela turned in surprise to the petit blonde she had seen behind Booth earlier and grinned. She didn’t even know who the girl was and she already liked her. “Don’t worry, it’ll pass. Agent Booth is the only man I’ve ever known to go through so many stages of PMS you’d think he was a woman.”

The girl’s smile widened and she snickered, her blue eyes glinting mischievously. “My names Veronica Mars; well, Special Agent Mars, but I’m still not used to all this Special Agent stuff.” She put her hand forward and continued, “But feel free to call me Veronica.”

“Angela Montenegro, craniofacial reconstruction specialist, which are a couple fancy words that mean I reconstruct what people’s faces looked like from their bones.” The two shook hands and when Veronica opened her mouth to say something more, Booth’s hollering voice interrupted her. “Hey, newbie, get in here; this isn’t ‘Make Best Friends with Every Stranger We Meet’ day.”

Veronica rolled her eyes and quickly fixed her pony-tail. “He also hasn’t called me by my name once yet. If he doesn’t apply for a new partner soon, I might just beat him to it.” She turned to leave; paused. “But then again, I wouldn’t want him to think he’d scared me off, would I? That’d mean he’d won, and I hate losing.” The blonde smiled and winked at Angela. “Nice meeting you, Dr. Montenegro.”

“You as well, Special Agent Mars.” Angela chuckled softly to herself as she walked away from Bones’ office and back to her work station, Agent Booth’s voice rising again behind her.

A/N: So I picked this prompt from a drabble-a-thon because the CW never ceases to shock me with its stupidity and canceling Veronica Mars just broke my heart. I miss VM, and she was going to join the F.B.I. if there had been a fourth season anyway, so where better for her to end up then in the Jeffersonium with the Bones cast as Booth’s partner?

This may spawn others, or it may not. I’ve never dabbled in either fandoms before, so I’m really nervous about whether I got the characterizations right or not. Hopefully I didn’t butcher anything too brutally. =___="
